You will receive it in the mail after successfully completing your course.
Once you receive the Certificate, please read it and make sure all the information is correct
You must sign it.
You must bring the original certificate to your driving test.
The certificate is valid for 1 year.
Should you lose it, you may request a paid duplicate. *** Processing time varies.
The DMV examiner must return the certificate to you if you don't pass the driving test.

REQUIREMENTS FOR 16 & 17 YEARS OLD NEW DRIVERS
6 Months of previous driving practice
Completed Form MV-262 to authenticate the required 50 hours of driving practice
Original and signed certificate of completion MV-278
Scheduled Road Test Appointment
Registered and Insured motor vehicle
Your physical photo learner permit
Your glasses or contacts, if your permit indicates you need corrective lenses
Your original Pre-licensing Course Certificate (MV-278) or Student Certificate of Completion (MV-285). Copies are not acceptable
Certification of Supervised Driving (PDF) (MV-262), if you are under 18, completed by your parent or guardian - must be given to the license examiner each time you take a road test
driver over the age of 18 (if a licensed driver is driving the permit-holder to the test site) or over the age of 21 (if the permit-holder is driving to the test site). In either situation, the other driver must have a physical driver's license that is valid to operate the test vehicle
a vehicle to drive during the test that has a valid registration, insurance, and inspection, operates properly, and is in clean condition
only the accompanying driver of the vehicle (no other passengers are allowed)
